- Karen, thanks so much for allowing us to screen "Crib Notes." This is a very personal project, obviously, for you, and I'm wondering if you could just tell us a little bit about what compelled you to make it. - I wanted to make a film for other mothers who were going through what I was going through. I felt like there's no way I was that unique, and I wanted to share it. So I started to record with my Hi8 camera every day, a one- to two minute story about my day with my kids. So I thought this kind of low-fi, intimate storytelling would be kind of fun and cool. - OK, so you recorded your kids every single day for three years. So tell us a little bit about how you put it all together. What was the editing process like? - Well, it was really hard to edit this footage, 'cause this footage I was really emotionally attached to. And I had a ton.
