- We've talked a lot about the evolution of film. From the first photograph ever taken in 1826 to the incredible 35 millimeter motion picture film that became the golden standard of one of the most influential industries in the world. It was truly an incredible journey and with the advent of all types of film editing capabilities and the emergence production and editing standards, language, and technique, audiences everywhere couldn't get enough of this beautiful and powerful medium. In this movie, however, I want to talk about another type of evolution that was occurring toward the latter part of the twentieth century, and that was the introduction of video and the incredible world of pixels. I actually want to start our discussion of the transition of film to video by going back to the 1950's when television came on to the scene.
