We're shooting in a space that is not super visually dynamic. It is a room painted black. There's some nice purple seats in it. There's some very nice lights on the wall. But overall to be spending a day in here shooting, it's hard to find a lot of variety. In an effort to break that up and in an effort to create a rhythm within the finished piece, I decided that I wanted today's shooting to have two different looks. I wanted it to look like a rehearsal, which meant Steven. Street clothes, just fluorescent house lighting and maybe a little rough around the edges in terms of the work that he was doing, what we're showing. And then I wanted something that looked more like a final performance. I wanted theatrical lighting, I wanted him in his performance wear, and I wanted him dong a full on, committed, uninterrupted performance.
