- Now that the portal animation is all done we're ready to lay it on a Card and stick it in 3D space and render it with a background. So let's take a look at that. Before we put it on a Card however we need a nice solid alpha channel so that none of this transparency shows through the card. So let's slide on in here. And let's add a Roto Node right here. And we'll name this one "solid core". Back to our picture. So if I select the ellipse, hold down the Shift key, and make a nice perfect circle. Pick it up and position it like so. Okay now if we look at the alpha channel we have a solid alpha channel here but I would like to have that a big soft feather edge. So let's put in a feather of 30. There we go. Okay, back to the rgb channels. And close the Roto Property Bin. Okay, we now have a solid alpha, this guy is ready to drop on a Card. So let's go get our lineup Card. Let's cruise over here. There's the lineup Card here, double-click on that, look in the 3D View. Let's also throw in…
