Extending the battery life

- Well, with these mirrorless cameras, one of the things that's been a bit of an issue is battery life. As we start using them for video recording and long-term recording, not just stills, these batteries are somewhat of a weak point. They don't last as well as we'd like them to. We start adding all kinds of things on 'em. They might draw the battery even further, so we're always looking for ways to extend the battery life to power these cameras. - Yeah, you've gotta remember, when you're using a mirrorless camera, you are essentially driving an electronic viewfinder or LCD screen a lot. Live view always drains the battery in a DSLR, and it's really the only mode you have. Maybe you're using the larger live view panel or the smaller one for the built-in electronic viewfinder, but those still draw power.
