Join Jim LaPier for an in-depth discussion in this video Exporting, part of Learning Vectorworks (2014).
…Aside from printing, there are a few other ways of sharing your drawings.…Vectorworks offers a number of exporting options, but…I want to highlight a few of them now.…Keep in mind,…some of these exporting options are available only in certain workspaces.…If I set my workspace to Fundamentals, and go to File > Export, I see a specific…number of files I can export to, including a special PDF known as Quartz Only.…This is a simplified PDF,…and does not have all of the options of the full version.…
However, if I go back to the Designer Workspace, under File > Export,…I have the option now as exporting as a full PDF.…Export to PDF is the preferred method for…creating PDFs from your drawings as opposed to Save as PDF on the Mac or…plotting to a virtual PDF printer like Adobe PDF on the PC.…And there are a few reasons for this,…aside from the very convenient export range options which allow you to export…the entire printable area as a single page, despite any page setup errors.…
You also have the option of exporting Classes and Design Layers as PDF layers.…
