- [Instructor] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to use…the vSphere On-disk Metadata Analyzer, or VOMA,…to check VMFS metadata consistency.…So why would we use VOMA?…Well, if you have problems accessing or modifying…or reading files on a particular data store,…you might have a metadata inconsistency issue.…And so as of vSphere 5.1, VOMA was introduced…to allow you to check for these sorts of problems.…So what we're going to do is we're going to…perform a VOMA check on the data store.…
So here I am at the home screen of my vSphere web client,…and I'm going to click on Storage,…and I'm going to look at data store one.…This is the only VMFS data store that I have…in my lab environment, so this is the one…that I'm going to run VOMA against.…And before I can perform a VOMA check, number one,…I need to make sure that there's no virtual machines…on this data store.…So I'll click on Related Objects and Virtual Machines,…and just verify that there are currently no VMs…on this data store.…
