Installing drivers

- [Instructor] To download the driver, I click on the link under footnotes. Scroll down and make sure that you're selected the correct driver. Click Download Now. If you're not already logged in to MyVMWare, you might have to log in at this point, but then it'll download the driver. The driver that gets downloaded is what's referred to as an offline bundle. It's a compressed folder that includes the VIB itself, as well as some additional information. I can use that offline bundle through Image Builder to create a completely new ESXI image that also includes this driver. That's necessary, because when I install ESXI, it has to be able to detect at least one network card. So if all of the network cards require Async drivers I'll have to create a new image. Most of the time that's done by your manufacturer when you purchase hardware intended for installing ESXI. You'll get what's called an OEM image of the software.
