- [Brian] I really think the title on this one says it all. It seems crazy to have a video devoted to getting paid, but if you've been working in freelance projects, you understand. Sometimes a little bit of protecting yourself can go a long way to getting paid on time, so in this video, we'll take a look at a few ways I've found to help get paid. This is the least important topic we will discuss. I'm totally kidding. So just ask for the money at the end, right? Is that how it works? Well, when I was growing up I always heard, "Pay for services rendered." And that's, you know, what I always assumed, but it's actually a little different in the real world as a freelancer. You have to learn to protect yourself. So what we're going to do is we're going to talk about a few things you can do to help get paid. I would suggest having milestones in a signed contract, some kind of agreement. And the milestones can mean up front, I'm going to get paid. I'm going to have some money, we're going…
