- [Craig] Hello, my name is Craig Barr, and welcome to Introduction to Unreal Lighting. Great models, beautiful materials, and nice textures are all important in producing beautiful imagery in Unreal Engine. However, none of these assets really matter without the lighting to bring them all together and ultimately to bring life to the scene. Proper lighting is the key to rendering stunning visuals in Unreal Engine. Producing effective lighting can be challenging. However, knowledge of where the tools exist and how they work in Unreal Engine is the key to begin producing good visuals. This course provides an introduction to lighting in Unreal Engine. We'll examine Unreal lighting concepts, the types of lights available, how to work with lights and light a scene. We'll look at the light mass system for light baking, and we'll wrap up with some simple light effects. Welcome, let's get started.
