Setting up the timeline

Setting up the timeline: Unreal Game Mechanics: Creating a Directional Sprint
Setting up the timeline: Unreal Game Mechanics: Creating a Directional Sprint

Timelines have already been used in this series and for good reason you will make use of them again. This time you are going to use the fact that they give us options further down the line. What you mean by this is that should you want to change how the sprint acceleration and deceleration work, you can make copies of this timeline and make simple changes to its float track to produce a wide variety of effects. Adding this kind of flexibility will make life easier should the game need more complex systems and mechanics adding.
