Introduction to Unreal Engine

- [Joel] Hello, and welcome to Product Visualization in Unreal Engine 4, a course that will not only take a look at the importing of mesh files, along with textures and materials into Unreal, but that will also look, once we have those foundations in place, at setting up volumes in order to help control the key, rim, and fill lights that we will also be creating. Of course, although many products suit this more artificial type studio lighting setup, we will also take a quick look at using a pre-built sun and sky Blueprint system, one that works really well for products that will look better in a more natural, daylight type setting. After adjusting the quality of our baked lighting solution, via the Lightmass world setting controls, as well as after adding an ambient occlusion effect, we will next take a look at one way in which we could go about adding interactivity to our product, and we will do this via the Blueprint visual scripting system. Finally, with models, textures, lighting, and interactivity all taken care of, we will go on to demonstrate the building of an animated camera sequence that will show off our product in a different way rather than a simple static shot. With our course goals firmly in mind, let's make a start and dive right in.
