- [Narrator] It's really hard starting out in concept art and not understanding things like perspective and lighting, and getting those things correct. Because, when you're working with complex shapes, it's really difficult to understand where the light's hitting, and that sort of thing. So, there's a couple of different ways that you can work, one of which is, you can draw right over the top of a 3D model, like I've done here. You can concept over the top of a photo, so what I've done is taken a photo of my space, and just drew right over the top of it. Having that perspective in there allows you to just figure out, like, for instance, this panel here became the doorway. And, it helps you train your hand and your eye in terms of perspective. The other thing that you can do is just use the chaos of brush strokes, and try to come up with some shapes and ideas around what you're doing.
