- With all the Meshes and the Textures imported,…we can now think about the collision volumes…on our different parts.…In a game, we need to assign Collision Volumes…to different objects so we don't well,…fall through the floor.…What we did initially is to say…there's no collision on anything…so we can come back through and set it…and optimize what we're doing.…Depending on how many different things…Unreal has to think about as we're moving around,…we can see our frame rate go up and down.…I'll go into the Meshes folder where…I've put in all my FBXs.…
On each of these, I can set its Collision Volume as I need.…Some things may get a simple box or simple shape.…Others use a Mesh Collision.…For example, the ceiling objects don't need…any collision on them.…We're never going to go up and walk on the ceiling.…The Doors and Door Frame I'll leave alone…till I get to a Blueprint.…And I'll start to look at things like…the elevator_lobby.…I'll double-click on it and this opens up…the Static Mesh Editor.…In this case, we can see,…
