- [Voiceover] When it comes to exporting 3D content for virtual reality there are a few tried and true formats to rely upon. Most of these are very similar to file formats used in game production. Let's have a look. For geometry the best format overall is to rely upon FBX. This is because it's kind of an all encompassing file format. It can embed textures and other media for example animation, deformable objects, you can embed vertex animation on there as well. And you can combine the entire scene or group of models into one file. It's very portable in that way. And it's actually quite convenient to work with if you have it down to one file and you need to make changes back in your 3D application, you can just simply overwrite that file and it will update live in the game engine that you're working within. OBJ is another format that's been around for a long time. It is still very useful. It's light, it's portable, but you are very limited to pretty much just the mesh and basic…
