- [Instructor] Now let's go through some of the tools you might use in pre-production. Also, if you're going to hire people with specific skill sets, this is a good list of software knowledge you'd be looking for. In pre-production, everything starts with a story. And what you use to write that story can be anything from your typical text editor to specialized tools such as Final Draft. My advice to you is choose whatever you feel comfortable with. But if you're going to work with professionals to put this together, you might as well use a professional screenplay software. Start to do a simple outline in your preferred software or note taking application then move on to specialized software like Final Draft. Personally, I've used Final Draft for a very long time and it is the standard in the movie and television industry. And this is what we'll use to explore the story later on.
