Demonstrate your proficiency at using Unity for game development by becoming a Unity Certified Developer. Prepare for the portion of the Unity Certified Developer exam focused on materials, lighting, and effects.
- Greetings and welcome to this video course on Unity Certification Preparation Materials, Textures, and Lighting. My name is Alan Thorn and I'll be your instructor as we explore the fundamentals on how to create materials and textures. How to establish a lighting scheme. And how to configure and apply image effects to in game cameras. By the end of this course you'll understand how to create and set up materials using the standard shader to work with a physically based rendering workflow.
Then we'll look at common texture ideas such as (mumbling) normal maps, UV mapping, UV tiling, and texture sizes. We'll then move on to explore lights and lighting in our scenes for making our levels look interesting. We'll see the standard light objects as well as direct and indirect illumination. And how to work with global illumination and light probes. Finally, we'll investigate how to enhance the mood and atmosphere of our scenes with image effects through the post processing stack.
This is great for adding effects like blue, blur, depth of field, and anti-aliasing. By the end of this course you'll be strongly positioned for creating levels with a strong visual appeal. So let's get started.
