- [Bruce] My name is Bruce Van Horn. I've been a software developer for 25 years, and have developed a full gamut of titles ranging from games to corporate software, to military flight simulators. While simply slapping a multiplayer component into an existing game certainly won't boost its appeal, or monthly app user statistics, a well-thought-out monetization strategy that includes multiplayer can profoundly affect how long your game stays top of mind with your players. In this course I will show you the basics of adding Unity's multiplayer network components to your games.
We'll start by covering a little network game theory, but we'll spend most of our time building a tried-and-true example of a multiplayer game. A tank combat game that you might find on a console with two controllers attached. We'll take that idea and adapt it into a network-playable land game that could be further extended to be played over the internet. A world of connectivity awaits, and I can't wait to get started. So let's dive into creating network games with Unity.
