- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Jesse Freeman, and welcome to Unity 5 Random Map Generation. If you're like me, you probably grew up loving classic RPGs on Nintendo and other 8-bit systems. In this course, we're gonna cover techniques you'll need to create a random map complete with continents and islands that have organic looking coastlines, decorations such as trees, hills, and mountains, and we'll add important landmarks for the player to explore, like dungeons, towns, and the castle. To complete our map, we'll create a camera that displays our sprite at the correct scale, as well as add logic to pan the camera with the mouse.
To wrap everything up, we'll use techniques like auto-tiling to give our randomly-generated maps a more polished look and feel. We have a lot of good stuff to cover, so let's get started.
