- The fourth kind of light we can use to bring…our scene to life are Area Lights.…To create an Area Light, I'll choose GameObject,…Light, and Area Light.…I'll press "F" to frame in on in it, and zoom in.…Framing sometimes backs out to show us the entire scene.…What we can see here, is I've got an Area Light,…and as the note says, up here in Type,…it's for Area, as in, baked only.…What this means, is that we can use our Area Lights,…in a bake, on static objects,…where those objects are not going to move,…but really need to show a larger light source on them,…than a point or a spot that comes from a point.…
Area Lights that are useful in certain situations,…simulating in smaller spaces, for example,…where that light source really is…and really making sure it looks like it…comes from a volume or an area.…I'll use some Area Lights in my hallway,…taking this Area Light, and pulling it over.…I'll pull it into the hall, and frame in on it.…With the Area Light in place,…we can see that the icon is different,…and Area Lights then are sizable.…
