When creating content in the game and visualization industries, it is not uncommon for artists to utilize other applications to visualize their fully-textured models. If you use industry-standard tools such as: Substance Painter, Quixel Painter, Marmoset Toolbag 2 or Knald, you’ll find that your textured models now come over to Unity matching and retaining their appearance. In this example, we have a model in Marmoset Toolbag 2, and we can see the model in Unity matches the overall look and feel. Unity 5.4 utilizes CGX for the standard shading model. This ensures smooth, clean and efficient presentation of materials and assets, while retaining the desired look and feel developed in other applications.
