- Unity has really terrific terrain tools available,…and they can help us make large,…open natural worlds if we need.…I'm going to make a small bit…of terrain, here in my courtyard.…I'm figuring that this courtyard is around a hero tree,…maybe it was there before the factory,…and provides an open space in the sun…for our player to walk into,…and it's different from the more…closed spaces we'll light later.…Right now, what I've done,…is to take my wall and floor objects,…and create the courtyard,…walled on three sides for the moment.…I've got a path that zigs across the middle.…And flooring around the outside.…
I've put a space for a door or an archway…on one side, and I've left one side open.…Figuring that later, I'll make a colonnade out of the arches…across, into another space.…This is a 20 by 30 area, and we need to keep in mind,…when we're making terrain, the size of our, well, terrain.…Terrain is made to deal in large areas.…The default terrain is 500 meters on a side.…What that means, is that we need…a lot of stuff to populate it.…
