- [Instructor] Let's talk about tools for making game sound effects. While I don't have an extensive background in sound design, there are a few tools that I use to help me out. Perhaps the most important one that I use is Bfxr, which is a free tool you can get online for generating out sound effects. Bfxr and the original Sfxr allow you to create authentic chip-tune sound effects. There are several sound templates to choose from. You can fine tune each of the sound effect settings, and you can also randomize and mutate the sound to help you find what you're looking for. Let's take a look at the program and a few of its options. Here you can see I have Bfxr open. As you go through and click on the buttons, it'll automatically generate out random sounds for you. Now, a lot of these, as I said, are random, so you don't have a lot of control over what they sound like. If you're using these templates for each of the different sound effects, they'll give you a basic place to start with…
