- [Bryan] In this lecture, I'd like to talk about a concept called absolute path versus relative path. This is going to be relevant to our command prompt work but also when using any kind of an RPA activity that requires a path. Sometimes we'll provide an absolute path, sometimes we'll provide a relative path, and it's up to you to determine which one is most appropriate for the current situation. An absolute path is always going to start at the beginning, and it's going to contain every step of the entire path, so you can see here that I've got a cd which means change directory, and it starts at the C drive, goes into the users directory into Bryan, into my folder. And of course, since there's a space in that one, I would have to put quotes around it. In the second example, we're going to create a new directory on the D disk, and you can see we've specified the entire path there, so the absolute path is always going to start at the very beginning, including the drive letter.
