- [Tom] Well, hello there. My name is Tom Green, and I would like to welcome you to Developing a Design System with UXPin. As our UX UI projects get more complex and the teams get larger and larger, there is a very real risk that the consistency of the design of those projects will suffer. The response to this has been the emergence of design systems, which adds that all important element of consistency to any project undertaken.
As one of the leaders in the UX design and prototyping field, it should come as no surprise, therefore, that UXPin has added a design systems feature to the UXPin application. In this course, we will start out by exploring what a design system is, and look at a couple of design systems created by a number of corporations. From there, we will move into the UXPin design system creation and workflow. We will also look at how to create a design system document, and how to add colors, type specifications, assets such as images and icons, and how to add common UI patterns to a design system library in UXPin.
Finally, we finish up by looking at how team members are added to a project that uses the design system, and how your design system document can be shared with all of the project's stakeholders. By the end of this course, you should have a pretty clear idea of why you need to build a design system, and how the UXPin design system neatly fits into your workflow. With that said, let's get started.
