Advice for lefties

- Being a lefty can pose a challenge when doing calligraphy. The main challenge is to avoid smearing the wet ink as you write from left to right. On the other hand, if you ever try writing Hebrew calligraphy, which is written and read from right to left, you lefties have a huge natural advantage. I'm here to tell you that it's definitely possible to do beautiful calligraphy as a leftie. The good news is that lefties tend to be highly creative individuals, partly because the world and its tools are mostly made for righties, so lefties have to figure out alternative ways to do things. Right handers tend to be pretty much like other right handers, although their natural pen grips may vary slightly. But lefties are special and unique, even from one another, so they come in many varieties when it comes to writing. Over the decades, I've taught many lefties who have amazed me with their creative work-arounds. Some wrote sideways, and some even wrote completely upside down. So, be patient…
