Managing flow

- [Instructor] Like any good system a team's development process needs to be tracked, maintained, and upgraded from time to time. Identifying blockages, waste, and feedback all contribute to how the flow of work items progresses through a (mumbles). As your process evolves, you'll feel when it's flowing nicely and when it's backed up. Earlier we defined maximized flow as delivery plus incorporated feedback. So far we've only added a work in progress limit to one column but that won't usually be enough. Fine-tuning your process will often require experimenting with different limits across multiple columns. One way to objectively gather and assess how well your process is flowing is by using a cumulative flow diagram or CFD. Essentially a CFD shows how work items are distributed over time among the board's different columns. How each column is plotted under its own color, which creates a layer cake effect on a graph.
