What you should know
- [Instructor] This is a beginner course, and there are no prerequisites other than basic computer skills. If you have previous 3D or graphic design experience, many of those skills will transfer for a quicker learning curve. Tinkercad is free, and it runs in a web browser. I'll be using the Chrome platform. Navigate to tinkercad.com, and sign up for an Autodesk account and log in before starting this course. Tinkercad is the only program you'll need for the bulk of this course, but there are a few videos that require additional software. Plan ahead and install Illustrator if you plan to work with 2D vector artwork. For the videos related to "Minecraft", you'll need the game plus a world editor called MCEdit. And finally, you'll need Fusion 360 to explore how it works with Tinkercad designs. If you don't have access to these additional programs, that's okay. It won't impact the main learning goals in this course.
