Using hole shapes

- [Instructor] We've worked with solid shapes. Now let's learn about hole shapes. Let's create a cylinder with a hole punched in the middle. Start by dragging a cylinder onto the workplane. Let's change the dimensions. Change to 40 by 40 and decrease the height to 10. Next, grab a hole shape, a hole cylinder, and drag it approximately to the center of the orange cylinder. Hole shapes always have a semi-transparent look with slanted lines. Think of them as negative space. Select both objects and then group. Now we have a tube shape. And just like grouping of solid objects, we can double-click into this complex shape to see its components. I can alter the shape and the position of this hole, and then click on the workplane to exit Edit Mode. In addition to the two basic hole shapes, the box, and the cylinder, you can convert any solid shape to a hole shape. Click on the moon, and then in the Inspector, switch it to a…
