Using Smart Duplicate

- In this video, we'll use Smart Duplicate to create a rectangular pattern with a series of Boxes. Let's start by moving our workplane. This time I'll use the W key, which is the shortcut, and then drop the workplane on the top of the Cylinder. Now let's grab a box from the Geometric shapes panel. I want to rotate this Box 45 degrees, and so there's two ways to do that. I'm going to grab on the curvy grip, and I can either rotate by keeping my mouse nice and close to the center here, so I'm snapping on that inner ring, or I can hold down Shift while doing the same thing, and that restricts the motion even more. I'll let go to finish that. I'm going to sort of roughly position this towards the end of the Cylinder. Now I want to create a pattern with this Box. I'm going to use Smart Duplicate. To start, I'm going to use Command + D to duplicate it. That copies it right in place. You saw that brief yellow-green flash. That means that it worked. Now I'm going to click and drag this second…
