Measuring with the Ruler
- [Instructor] Let's explore the various ways to use the ruler tool. So first we'll go through the basics, then I have two exercises for you to practice. I've already loaded them up here in these two separate tabs, and then I'll finish up with some tips on special situations. All right, let's start by dragging a box onto the work plane, orbit, zoom in, and then let's go up to the top of the shapes panel and click and drag the ruler onto the work plane. You can also use the shortcut key, R. Now we have three main categories of measurements. So highlighted in blue are the dimensions of the shape, highlighted in green, the offset of the object from the origin or starting point, which is this little circle here, and then finally we have the offset of the object from the work plane. That's over to the side. It's a little easier to see if we change it, so I'll click it and type 10, enter. And now you can see the box is…
