Grouping and ungrouping

- As you work on more complex designs, you'll want ways to combine basic shapes to create more intricate compositions. That's where grouping and ungrouping comes in. Start with the provided exercise file. Now I can select all three objects in this house and move them around together, but oftentimes, you'll want to create a group. I'm going to show you two ways to do this. So we already have all three of these objects selected. We'll go ahead and click on group. You can also use the shortcut, either command or control G. For the second house, we'll group in two steps. First clicking on the roof, shift clicking the red box, and choosing group. The house is selected. Hold down shift and also select the chimney and group again. Note that if color is important to you, the group will always take the color of the first object you selected. So these shapes are essentially the same, but they behave a little bit differently…
