Exporting a design for laser cutting

- [Instructor] Tinkercad can also export 2D files for computerized cutting. That's laser cutters, craft cutters, vinyl cutters, and more. Use the provided exercise file to follow along or a project of your own. This is a design I made with the Voroni shape generator. I'm going to use it as a decorative inset on a laser-cut box. When I export, Tinkercad uses the shape that's on the work plane. Choose Export, and then .SVG for laser cutting. Let's take a look at the exported file in Illustrator. It's a little easier to see if I mouse over it and it's selected. The SVG file contains 2D line work that's in red, which is the standard color for cut-through designs on a laser cutter. So what about 3D objects? Well, you can export them as well. Let's take a look at the propeller design that we made earlier in the course. Use the provided exercise file.
