Cutting the bottom flat

Cutting the bottom flat

- Now I want to with the fact that I have geometry sort of below the standard work plane. Let's reset the work plane. I use the W key and click it in the empty space, and see, I have these parts that are sticking below what will be the bottom of my print. I'm going to create a hole shape. I'll click on Holes and choose Box Hole and drag it into the space, and them I'm just going to roughly scale it up. Now we'll drag the top grip and pull it down into negative space. Then all I need to do is, while holding down the shift key, I'll select my box shape and my star shape and group them. So, essentially, that's just a really easy way to cut the bottom of a model flat. When you're working with angled shapes, you don't need to worry if they're extending sort of down into negative space past the work plane. You can sort of just deal with it in one motion with a box hole shape.
