Using external testers for alpha
- [Instructor] Even the biggest companies don't have unlimited resources for quality testing. You can't possibly have every phone that's in the market. However, if there are some important devices that are hard to find, you might consider soliciting outside testers to evaluate your software during the alpha phase. Locating technically skilled external testers is a good compromise to dealing with limited resources or hardware constraints. External alpha testing follows the same methodical approach to meeting benchmarks as an internal alpha. But it will use a customer validation software like Centercode instead of an internal testing and your bug-tracking software. Think of this like hiring temps with their own hardware to help you through a busy test cycle.
