- [Instructor] While theory isn't the focus of this course, it's important to learn where some of the concepts for creating learning assessments come from. There are many theories on education and training. Some of them are at odds with each other, while many of them overlap, as academic research comes from different perspectives and different fields, such as education, psychology, design, and philosophy. Let's take a high level look at the two most commonly referenced frameworks, Boom's Taxonomy and Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation. In downloadable files folder for this course, you will find two quick reference guides, one for Bloom's Taxonomy and one for Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of Evaluation. Bloom's Taxonomy is a framework to classify learning into levels or domains of complexity and mastery. Let's take the cognitive domain for example.
