Why integrate R and Tableau?

- [Narrator] So this all begs the question why would we integrate Tableau and R? Why not just use Tableau or just use R, they have a lot of overlap in their functionality. Well, one of the key reasons, and this is more specifically for people that are heavy R users, is that the integration here will allow you to dynamically recompute the results without manually having to recreate the data set for R. Now when working with R you'll often find that you have to recompute your results and rebuild your data sets in order to model them differently. With the Tableau and R integration you won't have to do this as Tableau will automatically ask R to recompute your results and then visualize them directly inside of the tool. Now sometimes this can delay the viz from updating verus just a native calculation built in Tableau, but it certainly is a time saver over having to recalculate everything in R. So for the Tableau users though, why would you use R? Well it's pretty simple. Tableau has…
