Union data using wildcards
- [Instructor] Unions are a method of combining data together from similarly-structured data. The process involves appending the rows from one data set onto another, to create a larger data set. There's three ways of doing Unions. There's a manual way, and there's the Wildcard way. Let's look at the Wildcard. So first of all, we're going to connect some data, and we're going to use the Weather Excel file which you can find in the data directory, so connect to that file, which is an Excel file, Weather. Within this Workbook, we've got four sheets, one for each month, and I can drag January in, and we can see we've got our three fields. One for the city, one for the state, one for the rainfall. At the moment, this is a single table import. I want to bring in all of my Tables and Union them together. Now I could bring each one in separately and then perform the Union step. That's useful in case I want to do some cleanup on an individual sheet before I do the Union. But in this example, I…
