- [Instructor] Displaying the values for company orders or sales that are broken down by department, provides the information you need to make informed decisions. If you want to know where a given value ranks within a table, such as which product categories had the highest or lowest order totals, you can add ranks to your table to provide that information. I'll demonstrate how to do that in Tableau, but first I'll give you an idea of what the different rank table calculations available to you are. And the specific calculations that are available, depend on your data, and the way it's organized, so you might not see all of them all the time. The first function is Rank, and what that does is it looks in descending order for data, so the higher values are better. Tied values are given the same rank, and then you skip. So for example, if you have two scores or two order totals that are tied for the top, and then you have a third and forth, the ties at the top are numbered one, and then…
