- [Instructor] Once you've decided that you actually want to create a data story, what's the best way of going about it? One of the things that can really help is having a good narrative structure within that dashboard. Now, any good story has a structure. They'll have a beginning, a middle, and an end. I'm going to use that same structure in our visualizations and in our data stories. One of the common structures is Freytag's Pyramid. This is a good use case for our dashboards. The pyramid has several different sections. Has an exposition, rising action, building to a climax, the falling action, and the denouement. But how do we use that in our data visualization? Exposition is the start of the story. It's where we set out what the dashboard is going to show. As we go through our data set and explore things, we go through the rising action. This is where we're showing different aspects of the data and different points of view. We might be drilling up or drilling down or filtering…
