Before diving into creating data connections and to creating visualizations in Tableau, this movie shows how to get help within the program. You can get help in Tableau by going to the Help menu and selecting an option from the list that's available. You have a Welcome screen, and then you also have, on the left, a number of categories that allow you to search for specific topics.
- [Instructor] Before I dive into creating data connections…and visualizations in Tableau I wanted to…show you how to get help within the program.…I have run Tableau but I haven't opened a workbook.…Instead I'm looking at the Start screen…and you can see that on the left hand side on the menu bar…there are three items.…File, Server and Help.…The Help menu is also available…from within the Tableau program.…If you've opened a workbook.…If I want to open the Help system then I can click Help…and I have a number of different options.…
The first option Open Help,…actually generates an error at this point.…Tableau 10 was just released and if I click Open Help…or press F1 then it takes me to the Tableau website…and it says that they can't find the page that I requested.…I've submitted that as a bug…and hopefully it'll be fixed soon.…However, if you want to get support and you get to this page…you can click Support.…That takes you to the main Support page…and then you can scroll down…and get help on Tableau Desktop.…
Once you're there you can either scroll down…
