Export transformed data to CSV
- [Instructor] One new feature in Tableau 10.2 is the ability to export a data source as a CSV. Now why might you want to do that? Tableau enables you to add extra information to an existing data source, for example, calculated fields. In this example here, we're looking at Superstore sales data. Now I've split the Customer Name into Forename and Surname using the Split function which performs this calculation. It simply splits the Customer Name on the white space to give me two new fields, one called Forename and one called Surname. I've also created a calculated field called Profitable. This is a simple calculation that says if the Profit is greater that zero, then Yes, otherwise No. This is now going to give us a text field Yes or No depending on whether our data is profitable or not.
