- [Narrator] Another key difference between green and blue pills when it comes to dates is how Tableau handles filtering. Let's take a look of that in action by creating a new Worksheet using our Order Date on our Columns. Let's change that to be a continuous Year, and we're gonna put Sales on our right. And now we're gonna break this down to look at monthly sales for all of our data. And we'd like to Filter this, and we want to Filter this on the Order Date. So, like any other Filter, we just drag it onto the Filters shelf. Tableau now gives us a couple of options. This depends on whether we want to look at discrete, which is blue dates or continuous, which is green dates. Let's look at the discrete ones first. Tableau lets us filter on Years, Quarters, Months, Days, etc. So, if we select Years, we get a choice of one of four distinct discrete dates that are in the data set.
