- [Narrator] In this example, we've got Sales per Sub-Category, but what we'd like to know is what kind of change would a percentage change in sales equate to? To do that, we're going to use a parameter to take user input and drive a calculation. First, let's make a parameter. We select Create Parameter, and we'll call this Percentage Change. We'll keep the Data type as a Float, and we're going to change the display format to be a percentage. We'll remove the two decimal places because you don't need that much precision. I have a nice slide as my parameter, so for that I'll need to use a range. Because percentages work between one being 100%, we want to set the Minimum and Maximum to be minus one, and plus one, that way we can look at the change of minus 100% to 100%. We're going to set our Step Size to be naught point naught five, this means we'll have a five percent increment in our slider. We can now add our parameter to our view.
