- [Narrator] In order to build a dashboard, first of all, we're going to need some sheets to put into that dashboard. So I'm going to build six sheets that we're going to be using the rest of this course. I'm using the Sample Superstore data set that comes built-in with Tableau. The first thing I'm going to build is a map showing our profits. Build a map, I'm just going to add State into my view, and Tableau builds the map for me. And I'm going to put Profit on color, so now each of my states is colored by the amount of profit being generated. I don't want to include all of my data in here, so we're going to drag Order Date onto the filter shelf to create a Relative Date filter, and I'm going to look back at the last three years. Now I want every sheet in my data set to also be filtered, so I'm going to set Apply to All Using This Data Source, so now that filter is going to be a global filter across all the sheets in our dashboard.
