Calculate a running total or moving average

- [Narrator] The data that you capture shows how business operations progress over time. All results for individual months or years are important. You might also want to see running totals and averages that show accumulated sales or costs over time. In this movie, I'll show you how to create those table calculations to find the average count, minimum, maximum, and sum of values as you go along. My sample file is the Running workbook, and you can find it in the Chapter07 folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this visualization, I have monthly order data broken down by five product categories. Currently I just have the data by itself, but let's say that I want to create a calculated field that would find either running totals or running averages and so on. To do that, I'd go to the Analysis menu, and click Create Calculated Field, and here I'm going to use the same field and edit it several times. I'll just call it RunningCalc, and press Tab.
