Calculate the average, median, minimum, and maximum of a set of values

- [Instructor] In the previous movie, I showed you how to find the sum of a set of values. While adding a bunch of data together is by far the most common calculation you'll perform, you might also want to find the average, median, minimum, or maximum value of a dataset. In this movie, I will show you how to perform those calculations. My sample file is the Average workbook, and you can find it in the Chapter02 folder of the Exercise Files collection. I have a fairly straightforward worksheet set up. It just shows a list of product categories, and what I'd like to do is to find the average value of orders for each of those categories across all of the cities in which I have hotels, and then also the median, which is the middle value, the minimum, and the maximum. If I look in the data panel, I see that I have a calculated field called TotalCost, and that calculates the total of each order by multiplying quantity by the price of the product that was ordered.
