- [Instructor] There's several hardware and software requirements prior to installing System Center Operations Manager, let's take a look and see what those are. Our first one's going to be the Windows Server Operation System, and in this case we're going to want to have at least 2012 R2 in order to install our System Center Operations Manager 1600 or higher, or 2016, we'll also need SQL Server 2014 Service pack 2 or newer, there is a SQL server 2016 available as well. Now let's take a look at the processor requirements. The minimum is going to be a 1 Ghz dual core, but the recommendation is going to have at least 4 cores or four virtual cores of at least 2 Ghz, and that's because the minimum will work, but the recommendation is going to have a much faster, better experience. You don't always want to go with the minimum unless you have no other choice. Let's take a look at some more requirements.
