Learn about boundaries and boundary groups to organize your SCCM devices by the type of network they're in. This helps keep devices more easily managed based on network location and type.
- [Instructor] We're in a fresh configuration…of System Center Configuration Manager.…On the bottom left hand side you see…four different categories.…Assets and compliance,…software library, monitoring, and administration.…As we click through each one of these different categories,…you can see on the top left…that the overview changes…to reflect that particular category.…Let's go into administration,…and one of the first things we're gonna need to configure…is the boundary.…So, if we click on boundaries,…then we're going to right click and choose to create one.…
So, what is a boundary?…Well, a boundary represents network locations…on the intranet.…Or, in other words the local network,…where our configuration manager clients are located.…Now boundary groups are made up of groups…of individual boundaries…that provide clients access to resources.…So, first we create a boundary,…and then we can create multiple boundaries, if we want,…and then we can add them into a grouping.…And, this just helps us organize by subnet…
