Making a kick drum

- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to use what we've learned in earlier chapters, to create some sounds from scratch. We'll cover workflow with combinations of oscillators, filters, modulation and effects, to design sounds. Creating your own sounds from scratch can be really exciting and will definitely give your music a unique sound. To get started, let's create an electronic-style kick drum. We're gonna kind of go through this chapter in order of complexity of designing these sounds. So I'm gonna start again by initializing the patch. And we're gonna hit command+J to do this. Okay, next, let's go ahead and change our first oscillator here to a sine wave. (beeps) And I'm gonna go ahead and bring down this sine wave an octave. (low beeps) On our amp envelope, I'm gonna keep a really fast attack here. And I'm not gonna have any sustain or release. We'll let the decay on our amp dictate duration here.
